The Bitter Sweet Life…

What To Do June 13, 2009

I know I said I wouldn’t go shopping until I’d gone down a few kilos, but I had a “presentkort”… which I have no idea how translate to English. Basically it’s a card with a little money already in it which can be used on a specific store. Usually something one gives away as a present.

Anyway, I got one of those from my apprentice place, and it has to, of course, be used! :)  I bought a pair of jeans so, ok, I had to use some of my money as well, but atleast it was a good excuse to get something that usually completely breaks my economy. Heh. (I love my excuses).

Having lunch with a friend, shopping, and getting to meet my Bear often enough to atleast get a few kisses, has made this a wonderful day despite the fact that my bicycle got stolen! :)

Right now I’m just trying to get used to not having a tv to kill the evening hours with. For the past two days I’ve had quite a lot of energy and stuff to use that energy on that I hadn’t actually missed our dear tv. Today though, I’m actually feeling a little abstinence! A sure sign of an addiction, wouldnt you say? :) I’m not really in the mood to do anything, which is usually a nice reason to just be couch potato but that’s sort of the point of this little challenge, isn’t it? To find something else to do, instead of watching tv.

Yes, I know, there’s a lot of stuff that I can do, my brain just needs a little training. After all, the only other times I’ve ever actually been without tv is on vacation… isn’t that sad? :) Anyway, it’s gonna be nice when this feeling passes!

Sweet kisses to all!

Good Weekend April 27, 2009

Out of the shower and about to get ready for bed.

Weekends usually end up passing me by without me realizing I had one or passing by with me feeling like I haven’t done squat. Getting a good variation of the two: a good non-passive (without necessarily being active) weekend that by Monday feels like the perfect length for a weekend… is a rarity.

This weekend though, has been one of those rare weekends. I’ve done things making me feel like a part of something. I’ve blogged, felt at ease with my surrounding and for the first time in a very long time made an effort to talk, write and re-acquaintance myself to people in general, cleaned and had a good evening with a friend that always offers a perfect evening with food, movie and a general good mood.

Also, my dad’s back in Sweden again since 2008 and my mom’s on her way. I’ve bought a beautiful dress and a pair of shoes I can’t wait to wear to next weeks banquet … and it’s been a good weekend.

Sweet kisses to all!

Shop-a-holic! April 4, 2009

I did something I’d promised myself I wouldn’t do until next month. I went shopping. :P And ended up spending the whole sum I had put aside this month for summer. Oh well, on the positiv side, I came hoem and tried them on again and realized that some of them didn’t fit with my other clothes the way I had hoped so I can get some of my money back when I return them. This is the way I shop, buy more than I should, and then return some Crazy, but it’s a good way to test new stuff that I’m not used to getting. :)

wonder if they’kk take it back even if my dear Isis’ decided that the return pile would make a good bed? (i.e. cat hair) ;)

Sweet Kisses to all!

P.s seems like my supervisor wants to make a new part time position at my apprentice place when I’m done because he likes the order I keep. How about that eh? ;)

Happy New Year! January 1, 2009

Last day of 2008

Klick to see more!

The last day of 2008 I spent as a perfect tourist! We went for lunch at a restaurant I had promised myself last time I was here (4 years ago) that I had to try out next time I came here because I found it just before we left. After that we swam at the beach (for the first time since getting here!) and then continued on at a nearby swimmingpool (for only the second time since getting here!). I also got to do my tourist shopping for the first time since getting here so as we left the beach my bikini was the only thing I was wearing that wasn’t bought that day. The only thing I didn’t get that chance to buy was a necklace because we ran out of time in the end. No problem though, I got the tourist day I’ve been waiting for since getting here! (Click on the picture to see more :) )

On the way home we had dinner at a cozy little italian restaurant (my stomach has given up on the indian food for this time around) and then came home to sit on the balcony with beer (for some), good company and good conversation watching all the millions of stars we actually get to see from this hill top! Quite nice.

The last couple of years I’ve been starting the new year with a staggering hangover so this/last year was quite nice just to sleep with my bear next to me, just listening to those fireworks outside. Ofcourse, it wasn’t completely by our choice, we have our last dentist appointment today, at 10.30, and I’m on antibiotics so no alcohol for me. ;) But as boring as it may sound to some, it was pleasant, calm and cozy. :) And even without all the drinking I still feel a kind of renewal of the new year. In fact, I would even take it as far as saying that I feel that renewal more when I can think straight! Heh

It seems a few are wondering why I’m spending so much time at the dentist on my vacation and there’s two reasons for it: 1) Why I’m doing it: It’s very cheap and our teeth get a more thorough work-over done here than they would at home. 2) Why it’s so often: Our dear dentist is working around our very busy (and very tight) schedule. Proof of that fact is that today is our last day in this very warm corner of the world and as I mentioned earlier, we’re going to the dentist. ;) But it’s all good. I’m thinking that I’m getting the chance to start the new year with a new smile. :)

So, tonight we pack our bags with maybe not as much new stuff I thought I would have (although this time the mans got more new stuff to fill the bag with than the woman), but instead a new bag to pack it all into. ;) I leave this place late (or early tomorrow depending on how you think of it) feeling renewed as usual, ready to face on the world. I’ll be arriving home (atleast this time the trip in only 1 day instead of 3!) to meet the real world with our adorable cats, with our responsibilities as a student and good experiences!

Happy New Year and Sweet kisses to all!

Money: an abstract notion August 29, 2008

Maaan! We got a killer electricity bill and we had to pay for the upcoming India trip this month (coming up to 4000kr)… And here I was thinking that this month I would have a little extra cash to play with and save. Part of me working so much this summer was to save for driving lessons next summer. I ended up working my ass off for practically no money and worked out.

I realize I shouldn’t complain about the money I get from the government, because at least I get some when there are countries out there where only the rich get to go to college (even if even here the economically advantaged have it easier, as always). My biggest problem though, is that during the last month of school before summer, we get about half of what we usually need to survive on. Thus, for the rest of the summer we’re just trying to get back on track. When school starts again the money we had saved, slowly, slowly slithers away… for the whole thing to start all over again next summer.

This time, I’ve come to the end of the month and I have no extra cash to speak of. Making me even more desperate for a part time again. This sucks.

…and I wanted to shop at Dress-for-less and maybe buy a pair of jeans at JC I’ve had my eyes on for what feels like forever. *wah*

…and save some money of course. ;)

Bitter kisses from a spoiled little girl!
